Charlie Bronson

Like a lot of people, I find this man fascinating. He's a proper lunatic. It astounds me when a relatively normal person can go so completely apeshit for no apparent reason. I've observed this sort of thing (on a much smaller scale obviously) in real life with many of the guys I grew up with. It's almost like violence is an addictive drug.

Solitary Fitness is one of my favourite books that I've read on working out. Anyone who can follow this regime and put 100 per cent effort into it will end up a powerhouse. Much easier said than done when you consider that "Bronco" himself has got literally all the time in the world to do pushups all day long but there's still a lot you can take away from it. Some of the isometrics are brutal and they tire you out fast. For my neck in particular I've found they work better than anything else.

There's a lot more to it than just a collection of exercises though. It's an all encompassing system and method of healthy living along the lines of Charles Atlas' Dynamic Tension or any of those old fashioned mail order fitness courses. A very interesting read, if nothing else, just because of the perspective he brings. Some of the shit he writes is literally laugh out loud funny. For me anyway, but I'm an asshole and make no apologies about it.

  1. If Bronson genuinely wrote Solitary Fitness then he is a mastermind as well as a criminal. Anyone who follows his course will have clean bowels and a long penis to complement their press-up numbers.
Looking forward to watching those two videos.

  2. I'm not to keen on idolizing criminals in any context. Especially, if they perpetuate harm, loss, and infringement on my rights. What if this fk'r robbed your house glen while you were out and you wife and daughter were alone.

Yes, it's a sad case the system is "messed" but we try to seek whats best for society on a whole and supply people with the tools and chances. If you want to "reformation" meaning a more controlled society wherein taxes escalated for more social equality if such a thing exists it comes at costs. As well, were at the point wherein the only option is to PROTECT others from having their rights infringed on. The fucker could have been a homeless begger instead of robbing. its a personal choice. he chose to take someone else freedom. Consequently, he had several chances throughout his life and in most countries would've gotten a bullet in his head and left to rot.

  3. He's definitely right where he belongs. He knows it too and has never denied it.

  4. You sure about that?

"My legal team are working on my third appeal now and I believe I will walk out of the appeal court a free man in 2012 because my conviction and sentence were totally unjust."

  5. Well, apparently I'm not sure. All I know about him is what I've read in Solitary Fitness and Loonyology. I don't follow the whole Free Bronson movement.

  6. Looking forward to watching those videos Glen (Sunday will be first day off work in two weeks), cheers for that. Probably get the book too, if only as a motivational tool.

Adam - I doubt Glen was saying Bronsons crimes were a good thing. But men, at least men who aren't fucking gay or liberals, admire tough men. That's why we like to read about people like Genghis Khan, Musashi Miyamoto, Jack Dempsey, Mikiyo Yahara (ha ha, you'll have to look that one up, clueless fuckers), vikings etc, etc. We'd like to think we could be a bit more like them.

  7. Bronson has never killed anyone. He stole about £20 and has spent the rest of his life in prison fighting people - mostly other convicts.

I like the part where he tells you to punch a cow in the face.

  8. He hates rapists and goofs. Who doesn't? In his own words, if he doesn't like you, he'll let you know it. Seems like a solid guy to me.
